Angela Shelton: Naturist Kid and Sexual Abuse on the Ricki Lake Show

Angela Shelton – growing up as a naturist kid:
The movie’s primary subject is sexual abuse, inspired by her own abuse as a child, allegedly from her dad and step mother.
She begins her story on the Ricki show, and among the first things she says is, (this is not verbatim, incidentally, but close enough.)
Angela continues with her story, and I never heard nudist resorts mentioned again. read found another post that says her father told her, I made stupid mistakes about the nudist colony and the running around with your clothes off
Yet, despite the fact that there was never any link especially made between naturismand molestation, her casual remark in her introduction heavily implied that there’s a definite one.

I was so upset when I heard Angela say that to Ricki! beach bum believed it was entirely irresponsible and misleading. As if http://kiv.bocayoga.com/__media__/js/netsoltrademark.php?d=nudistsplace.com who go to naturist resorts are automatic targets of sexual abuse. There’s follow between a family-friendly naturist resort and an orgy!
One is a place where adults go to have sex. beach party is a spot for folks of ages to enjoy leisurely tasks while naked. A really misguided notion is that nudity is simply sexual. When a small kid tears off his or her diaper and exclaims, I am nakey, it is never for any sexual goal. It’s because it is natural. They’ven’t been instructed that it is bad or shameful to be naked. I think this healthy attitude shouldn’t be stomped on. That’s part of what results in body shame and phobia.
What Angela Shelton has done to help others, and to get closure for herself, is commendable indeed. I also can understand how her personal views of nudism and nudist resorts would be a negative one. Specially if it were directly linked to her mistreatment.

But to imply the two are mechanically linked is what I ‘ve an problem with. A child isn’t any more likely to be mistreated nude than they are clothed. Of all the horrible stories I Have heard in the news about similar incidences, I Have never heard one talking about nudism.
